Niti Ayog released the NER District SDG index report; East sikkim tops graph

Guwahati: East Sikkim Regency has been marked as the best player and Kipire District Nagaland as the poorest in meeting the goals of sustainable development in the first edition of Niti Aayog’s in the North Eastern Region (NER) report on the SDG index, which was released on Thursday.
Chronicles of Metropolitan Regency, which are the best performing districts in Assam, ranked 18th in the composite list.
The index measures the performance of 103 of 120 districts in eight states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura in 15 sustainable development goals.
According to the report, 64 districts are included in the category of front runners while 39 districts are in the player category in the composite score and district rank.
All districts in Sikkim and Tripura fall in the front runner category and there are no districts in the candidate or outstanding category, the report said.
East Sikkim Regency was attended by Three District Tripura -Gomati, North Tripura and West Serchip District and Mizoram among the top five districts.
Four of the five districts at the bottom of the list came from Nagaland-Mon, Tuency, Zunheboto and Kiphire and one, Kra Daadi was in Arunachal Pradesh.

Two other districts from state-champhai and serchip are in fourth and fifth position.
The best performance of Assam in the purpose of “industry, innovation and infrastructure” in which four metropolitan district-kamrup, Morigaon, Hailakandi, Jorhat, Nagaon and Nalbari occupy the top slot.
In his remarks, Deputy Chairperson of Niti Aayog Rajiv Kumar said: “The SDG Index of the North East Region is an important milestone in our SDG journey which aims to not leave anyone behind and will strengthen the localization of SDG, by placing our district, especially at 8 northeast We are the state, at the forefront of adoption, implementation, and monitoring of SDG.
