Patna: Head of Bihar Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday examined sustainable preparation on different Ghats on the south edge of the Ganges River after the next Chhath ‘Mahaparv’.
During the inspection, he issued instructions needed to officials to maintain cleanliness and security around Chhath Ghats during the Most Saleh ‘Mahavrat’ of the country.
It was a second cm inspection from Chhath Ghats in a week.
Previously, Nitish had checked this Ghats on October 27.
After inspection, Nitish said he would once again visit Ghats on November 6 to check the work done by administration.
Accompanied by Deputy CM Tarkishore Prasad and four other cabinet colleagues, Nitish ride a boat boat and began checking ongoing preparations from Nasriganj Ghat (Danapur) and went to Jhauganj Ghat at Patna Sahib.
Inspection continues for about two hours.
CM surrounds the different Ghats with steamers and observes ongoing renovation work and road construction approaches in different Ghat.
CM asked officials to ensure that worshipers who came to Ganga Ghats did not face any difficulties.
He said all road approaches must be well maintained.
He asked officials to make security arrangements and facilities that were very easy near Ghat Collectorate as a large number of worshipers there.
Nitish then asked officials to ensure the right barricades from Chhat Ghats considering the water level in the river and also made arrangements for the number of watch towers enough to keep the continuous Ghats around Ghats.
He also ordered for the right security settings, safety, cleanliness, lighting and public address systems beside all Ghats.
Speaking with reporters immediately after inspection, Nitish said he had issued certain instructions to officials during his last inspection.
“Some works have been completed.
The road approach is being renovated at the war level to provide comfort for worshipers.
The barricade works are also carried out to provide security for visitors.
The water level in Ganga is in a downward trend.
There are requirements to reduce water levels,” he said.
Nitish also said that worshipers would be allowed to do rituals only on Ghats where there would be very easy security settings.
The worshipers will not be allowed to do rituals on Ghat dangerous.
All the preparations needed around Ghats may be completed in the next two days.
This year, the four-day ‘Mahavrat’ will begin on November 8 with the ‘Nahay Kay’ ritual and ended on November 11 with the last ‘Arghya’ to the sunrise in the morning.
The ministers who accompanied CM during the inspection were Vijay Kumar Choudhary (Education), Sanjay Kumar Jha (Water Resources), Nitin Navin (road construction) and Rambrit Paswan (PHED).
Chief Secretary of Tripurari Sharan, DGP S K Singhal and several other senior officials from the State Administration accompanied CM during inspections.
