Nagpur: Cannot recover RS651.75 crore arrears from 3.86 Property Owner Lakh, Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has now decided to focus on the current tax recovery of 100%.
With a view to increase NMC revenue, the city commissioner Radhakrishnan B has set a daily target for the assistant Commissioner City 10 Zone.
Now, they have to collect at least RS1.48 Crore Daily, Deputy Deputy Commissioner Millind Meshram.
The monthly target for November is Rs 53.49 Crore.
The standing committee led by Prakash Bhoyar has set the RS332.49 Crore target for the current financial year, but the recovery of property taxes until October ends is RS96.46 Crore.
Even though NMC focuses on recovering current taxes, it will simultaneously target absent.
According to data compiled by the NMC tax department, there were more than 3.86 Lakh property owners who had default about taxes with RS651.75 Crore tones.
The department has compiled the disappearance of classifying it into five categories – 643 which has RS5 lakh contributions and above each.
Cumulative contributions they stood at RS269 Crore.
Likewise, failed property owners between RS1 Lakh and RS4.99 Lakh (2,326), the tax payable is RS45.05 Crore.
A total of 5,058 owners owed between RS50,000 and RS99,999 to NMC and total contributions were estimated at RS33.86 Crore.
More than 20,713 property owners have default on tax between RS25,000 and RS49,999 and its contributions are RS68.88 Crore.Lika8, 1.72,285 Property owners have contributions between RS5,000 and RS24.94 Crore.
A total of 1,85,772 property owners owe between RE1 and RS5,000 taxes.
The total extraordinary contribution is more than RS42.91 Crore income needs to be addressed immediately and strict efforts must be done to reverse the trend.
NMC has launched an amnesty scheme in December last year, it aroused a bad response.
Around Arrears of Property Tax Crore RS651 due from more than 3.86 lakh is absent.
From this, only 50,548 property owners, who have default on tax for years, have paid RS43.88 Crore contributions.
