NMC ahead of 700 HCW from Covid’s work

Nagpur: Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) on Saturday relieves 700 doctors, nurses, technicians and other health workers (HCW) involved in Covid work.
The decision occurred in the day when the city registered a two-digit positive case after 13 days, on Saturday.
This is likely to affect vaccination and testing.
The Civic body has recruited 1,127 HCWS – 550 eight months ago and 577 in April, especially for Covid work.
There are 14 General Physicians, Anesthesia, 89 Doctors MBBS, 184 Doctors Ayush, 614 Nurses, 26 pharmacists, 86 technicians, 97 boys, 12 shop offices and three hospital managers, and three hospital managers.
The total salary per month is around RS 3 Crore.
The head of the NMC Medical Officer Dr.
Sanjay Chilkar told TII that the central government was used to bear costs under the National Health Mission (NHM).
“HCW is involved in Covid Hospital from NMC, GMCH, IGGMCH, Shalinitai Meghe Hospital, testing center, vaccination etc.
The government directs us to relieve staff because the cases are very lacking.
Thus, we relieve staff on Friday and Saturday , “he said.
Dr.
Chilkar added that around 400 which had been maintained are being paid every day.
“About 500 staff work in vaccinations including 400 involved on a temporary basis for pandemics under the NHM.
We have asked them to continue working on daily wages,” he said.
Some of these staff have carried out a flash strike a few days ago protesting the daily wage system.
NMC has 600 HCWs itself mostly paid by the center under the National Urban Health Mission (NUUHM).
Dr.
Chilkar said NMC would do our best to avoid impact on vaccination, testing and in Covid Hospital.
“The government has searched for staff details needed for the third wave.
Therefore, there is nothing to worry about after relief around 700 staff,” he said.
When the NMC recruited staff during the first wave, many doctors, nurses, and other staff refused to work for a certain period of time.
Meanwhile, on Saturday, 17 positively tested from 6,542 tests in the city.
The number is the highest in the day after 18 days.
Seven cases come from rural areas.
24 districts recorded are the highest in the day after 21 days.
25 cases on July 10.
The district has noted without death for the past four days.
Vaccination continues in the district on Saturday.
25,789 took Jab in the city and 13,619 in the countryside (total: 39,408).
