NMC AUCTIONS Duplex to recover property tax RS2.57L, Get RS57L

Nagpur: Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has auctioned a duplex house to restore RS2.57 Lakh property tax arrears, and finally produces RS57 Lakh.
Duplex owners cannot be tracked, and have not claimed excess amounts within six months, so the Civic body can maintain the entire amount.
Commissioner of the city of Radhakrishnan B has directed the NMC property tax department to speed up the open plot auction process and the structure for recovery of arrears.
Deputy NMC Commissioner Milind Meshram told TII, “This duplex is the first structure to be auctioned for the recovery of property tax arrears, where ownership is taken by a successful bidder, in 70 years of NMC history.” Duplex annual tax on HB Estate in Sonegaon is RS4.445 and taxes have been delayed since 2000.
NMC gave a lot of notification but no one responded, because no one lived in duplex.
Even the housing community does not know about the existence of the owner.
“We complete the process or auctioned.
Residents live in the same area participating and emerge as a successful bidder in auction.
We submitted a sales certificate and document related to him a few days ago,” said the NMC head.
Civic’s body has maintained a house offset value as RS38.35 lakh for the area built 52.74 sq m, on plot 122.12 sq M.
Meshram added, “There are provisions in the corporate law of Maharashtra Municipal (MMC) that the owner can claim The excess number of auctions within six months.
In this case, the owner does not claim within the specified time period.
Now, the NMC cannot provide excessive amounts to the owner.
After paying tax arrears, the remaining RS54.43 Lakh becomes NMC money.
“Before this case , some structures have been auctioned but ownership is not given to a successful bidder when the owner appears and pays arrears.
The owner can claim property within 20 days auction by paying all arrears to NMC, and 5% of the auction value to a successful bidder.
Meshram also said the proposal would be submitted before the public body to release the excess amount recovered to the owner even after six months.
“The open plot in Manewada is auctioned for RS1.72 lakh arrears recovery.

Meshram said many plots open and selected structures to be auctioned.
“All properties with more than RS50,000 arrears will be auctioned,” he said.
The total property tax arrears around the RS680 Crore.
NMC has initiated a auction of 9,745 properties for restoration of arrears.
Of these, 2,595 properties have been confiscated until now.
The 495 auction process property has been completed.
The sales certificate was followed by submitting property ownership to a successful bidder conducted in 13 cases, where 12 was an open plot and one duplex in Sonegaon.
The Civic body cannot make the bidder in the auction of 138 properties, so they are listed in the NMC name.
