NMC Flying Squads Find Daily Waste collections in several fields

Nagpur: The initial survey of the flying team formed by Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has revealed that two private operators – Ag Enviro Infra Projects Pvt Ltd, Thane and BVG India Ltd., Pune – did not collect garbage from households in basic daily in several areas .
Both companies also violate the norms and cause financial losses to the civil body and increase the level of pollution.
Furthermore, both operators do not even collect and transport mandatory separate waste.
After many complaints, the city commissioner Radhakrishnan B formed a flying team on August 24 for all ten zones.
Deputy Commissioner, Superintending Engineer and Executive Engineer who are not involved in garbage collection and transportation every day made a fly team.
They must submit a report on August 31.
“Residents told the Dharampeth zone forces that AG Enviro collected garbage in alternative days.
People were forced to dispose of garbage in public places.
The road is not really swept away,” NMC officials told toi.
Complaints from the Dhantoli zone and Nehru Nagar have been a little.
“Many don’t give garbage in a separate way,” they said.
Head of the Ag Enviro Samir Tonpe project, “We have not received 5-6 garbage transfer stations from NMC.
Because of non-compliance, we are forced to involve more vehicles.” Only 20-25% of houses in Mangalwari, Gandhibagh and Satranjipura zone have complained of the daily collection , said officials.
Shiv Sena Acticist Nitin Tiwari accused that Indian BVG did not collect garbage every day from most regions.
“Trash is collected after three-four days from several regions,” he said.
Amol Mane of BVG India does not respond to calls and messages from TOI.
Meanwhile, Commissioner of Radhakrishnan B City said the action would be taken against the operator based on the findings of the troops.
“The steps have been taken to ensure a daily collection, there is no trash can, 100% segregation and sweep the road,” he said.
Previous operators, KANAK Resources Management Limited (KRML), used to claim a daily collection of 1,255 metric tons.
He was also allowed to destroy waste.
Civic’s body involved AG Enviro and BVG India in November 2019.
NMC officials said the two operators claimed 1,000-1,100 metric tons of garbage collection per day.
These operators are not permitted to destroy waste which is approximately 150-200 metric tons per day.
Tiwari said the operator only collected 600 metric tons per day.
“I have filed a complaint with NMC,” he said.
In fact, Western Nagpur Mla Vikas Thakre has also exposed illegal practice to mix stones and mud with garbage.
