Nagpur: Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) regulates an invalid layout, plot and development plan approved under the Gunthewari Law for almost 20 months, without having the power to do so.
To avoid discomfort for people, the state government is reported to have convinced to produce a plan where decisions taken by the civil body will be regulated.
This problem arose in the letter sent by Commissioner of Radhakrishnan B to the State Urban Development Department (UDD) a few days ago.

The government has provided the power of the planning authority of seven NIT schemes to NMC on August 27, 2019.

There is no clarity in the planning authority for the area under the Gunthewari Law.

In the same letter, Radhakrishnan has provided a reference meeting held between UDD officials, NMC and NIT.
Officials told Tii, “NMC made the city planning authority.
Also, Nit sent all the pending files under the Gunthewari Law.
Therefore, the NMC committed regularization.” In the meeting, the main secretary of UDD made it clear NMC was not given the power to Regulate illegitimate layout and plots in the Gunthewari Act.
UDD directs NMC to send a list of layouts and plots where NMC makes a decision between August 27, 2019, and April 9, 2021.
Thus, NMC has sent a list.
The government is reducing plans to arrange decisions taken by NMC.
According to the list sent to the government, the Civic body has arranged a unauthorized layout in Mouza Hazaripahad and 1,244 unauthorized plots, and the development plan approved at 2,140 regular plots in 20 months.
NMC earned revenue RS106.73 Crore from these decisions.
Although NMC has not received any replication in writing from the government, it is reported to transfer all files to NIT, which has continued its services.
West Nagpur Mla Vikas Thakre, as well as the president of the City Congress, said it was an irregularity and main violation by NMC officials so that actions must be taken against all responsible officials.

City President of BJP Pravin Datke, also MLC, said, “Chairman of the City Nit and Commissioner is an IAS officer and is responsible for interpreting the government’s direction and providing services.

Dissolution of NIT is the only solution to end All of these problems.
Therefore, all public representatives must come on one platform and ensure the dissolution of nit.
