Nagpur: Violating Norma, Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (RJIL) has placed the fiber optic cable at the cement concrete road surface layer, trail, compound walls and trees in the Ajni, pose a threat to citizens and livestock.
The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) engineers have examined spots but avoid taking any action or forcing any penalty for this particular violation.
After complaints from local residents, TOI visited a place to find two open RJIL rooms on the shoulder of the cement concrete road on a busy road connecting Ajni Square to the Ajni train station, submitting a threat to people and livestock.
In accordance with NMC norms and state governments, optical fiber cables must be placed under the road.
The new guideline from the Civic body makes it mandatory to put the fiber optic cable using horizontal drilling directional (HDD) technology.
However, two Rjil optical fiber cables have been placed in the surface layer of the concrete cement road and the trail from one room to another.
The cable is also placed on a compound wall of the central prison colony.
Trees also have no exceptions, with cables are also placed on a series of trees between these two rooms.
The fiber optic cable bundle can also be seen left on the trail.
The cover on the got hole with the path has also been removed.
Overall, the shoulder of the cement concrete road and the trail on a stretch of around 120-150 meters has turned into a danger point.
It’s no use for people, cyclists, motorbike riders, and four wheels.
Spokesperson RJIL did not submit a company statement despite calls and messages.
Toi has been on December 28, 2021, reported the RJIL trenches digging on Jalan Tar in Sahakar Nagar to put the fiber optic cable even though the civil body gave permission to carry out work through HDD technology.
Kota Commissioner Radhakrishnan B took a serious awareness of TOI reports and directed the engineers to check and start actions.
Laxmi Nagar Zone Engineer and the Hotmix Department examined Sahakar Nagar, Jaitala and Ajni, and also collected a sentence of around RS2.25 Crore in Rjil to broadcast the road about 10 days ago.
But the engineers avoid taking any action or forcing a fine to put the cable on the road surface layer, trail, walls and compound trees.
Also, engineers ignore the steps needed to avoid discomfort for people and traffic.
An engineer from the Hotmix NMC Department said inspections would be followed by the necessary actions against RJIL for violations.
