Nagpur: Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) on Friday started Covid-19 vulnerable group vaccination, starting with pregnant women, as part of preparation for the third wave.
To encourage inoculation and contain deployment, the civil body is likely to explore the possibility of giving preference to people who are fully vaccinated in important operations, non-essential shops, restaurants etc.
NMC started the vaccination center in Pachpaoli in Pachpaoli at Pachpaoli Women’s Hospital on Friday.
The city commissioner Radhakrishnan B told Tii, “this center will be specific to vaccinating pregnant women.
Then, breastfeeding women will be added to the center.” Only three pregnant women were brought to the center and vaccinated on the first day.
The NMC Chief Medical Officer Dr.
Sanjay Chilkar said, “We have a list of more than 11,000 pregnant women under the government scheme.
We will send a team that is aware of the importance and benefits of vaccination for this pregnant woman.
These teams will bring pregnant women to the center and Ensuring their vaccination.
Likewise, a list of pregnant women who register or take treatment in the government and private hospitals will be collected and encouraged to get vaccinations.
“Dr.
Chilkar said special preferences were given to pregnant and breastfeeding women because they were vulnerable to Covid-19.
“Also, the government has directed steps to protect children.
This drive will also ensure the safety of children,” he said.
NMC will open a similar special vaccination center for pregnant and breastfeeding women at Daga and IGGMCH maternity hospitals too.
Dr.
Chilkar added, “People who are more vulnerable like Co-Morbid and 45+ have not been vaccinated age groups will be gradually identified and encouraged to get vaccinations.” Zilla Parishad (ZP) has begun to identify the mother of children aged 0-13 years and begin their vaccination.
Radhakrishnan adds a special vaccination drive to be carried out for the third gender from Monday and so on.
“We have received requests from several NGOs in this regard.
NGO representatives say there are some doubts related to vaccination in third gender people.
Therefore, we will facilitate special centers for them,” he said.
A day ago, the government has announced relaxation in producing RT-PCR negative reports for people who are fully vaccinated while entering the state of the state or other foreign countries.
Radhakrishnan said, “We are exploring the possibility of giving special preferences to people who are fully vaccinated in carrying out commercial activities during restrictions.
This will ensure vaccination of people involved in commercial activities, which can become SuperSpreaders if they are contracted illness, because they meet people – People in large quantities every day.
“Radhakrishnan also said,” We will ask some industries and corporations to advance and sponsor vaccinations for their staff and members of their family.

Vaccination continues in covaxin centers.
Around 33,235 people took JAD at the NMC center, while 1,266 were vaccinated in 13 private centers.

ZP completed vaccination record 27,353 in 182 centers in the district of the district on Friday.

The total vaccination in the district was 61,854 on Friday.
Orange City Hospital and Research Institute (Ochri) became the first private center to get a covishield dose by making an order in the co-win application.
Previously, a private hospital was used to order directly with the manufacturer and get a dose.
Ochri Director Dr.
Anup Marar said, “The government starts the option to place orders to the manufacturer or stated in the co-win application.
Thus, we pay and order for 6,000 doses on Monday and receive it directly from the manufacturer on Friday.
The minimum order is 6,000 Dosage if you have to order directly with the manufacturer.
