Nagpur: In the unique way to celebrate the 75th Independence Day, Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) will determine the three sewerage mini (STP) processing plants in Shankar Nagar, Senapati Nagar and Mhada Colony Gardens on August 15.
“NMC will not only use caring for water from the NAG River for the maintenance of greenery in his garden, it will also get income by selling it for construction activities,” said Mayor Dayashankar Tiwari while overcoming a press conference on Friday.
The Gadkari Union Minister, Minister of Nitin Raut District Guard, opposition leader Devendra Fadnivi, among others, will remain present during the Commissioning Mini Syst.
The former wave of the Chairman of the Water Works Committee Vijay Zalke, The Civic Body has planned to install a mini stps in 12 parks next to the Nag River and its tributaries throughout the city.
This 12 STP will help NMC to reuse 1.05 latric liters of water per day.
From the water treated, 79,000 liters will be used for parks and 25,000 liters remaining will be sold for construction activities, he said.
NMC will provide a water tanker of 4,000 liters for RS500 per trip.
The Civic body has targeted to sell six water tankers per day and expect to get RS3.60 lakh per year from the sale of water processed.
Already, the contractor who operates this three mini STP has deposited 40% of the targeted money that comes around RS1.30 lakh.
The cost of installing 12 stps is RS1.14 Crore and the right water solution M / S Private Limited has been entrusted with work.
“The 180 day deadline has been set for companies to assign all 12 stps,” said Mayor.
The Shankar Nagar plant will function on solar power.
Red tankers will be used to transport the water processed for a purpose that cannot be taken, said Tiwari and adding that Gadkari has promised to provide a tractor managed by CNG to transport treated water.
“We have also approached the Confederation of the Indian Real Estate Developer Association (Credai) to promote the use of waste water processed for construction activities throughout the city,” said Mayor.
This step will also help NMC to save around 4 crore liters of ground water per year.
The mayor also said that NMC produced RS62 Crore per year from the sale of 320 MLD waste water for power plants in the district.
