Navi Mumbai: Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) on Tuesday claimed to have vaccinated 100% of the city population that meets the first dose of the anti-covid vaccine according to the target given by the state government.
With this, Navi Mumbai has become the first city in MMR to cover 100% of its population that qualifies with the first dose.
Mumbai, who has a 92.3 92.3 vaccination target beneficiary, has included 89.3 lakh recipients with the first dose, which is 97% of the target, while it has been fully vaccinated by 56% of the qualified population.
More than 52% of the population of Navi Mumbai who qualified here also received a second dose.
However, given the floating population, the civilian government still appealed to those who might be abandoned to get themselves vaccinated in NMMC vaccination centers free of charge.
The state has a 9.14 crore vaccination target and has completed 70% of the first dose coverage, while 31% of adults who meet the requirements are fully vaccinated.
With the second wave ebbing and early celebration season and harvest period in rural areas, vaccination drives in this country occur at a much slower speed than usual.
“We plan to continue with Mission Kavach Kundal to Diwali and vaccinate as many benefits as possible until then,” said Minister of Health Rajesh Tope.
“The target is to vaccinate 11.07 Lakh populations that meet the requirements, and we have achieved it.
We will now focus on providing the second dose.
We value cooperation extended by these city people because very challenging tasks can be achieved,” said Head of NMMC Abhijit Bangar.
5.76 lakh has been given a second dose.
