No-Castling Chess: Anand Holds Kramnik, Wins the Sparkassen Trophy

Dortmund: GM Viswanathan Anand India won the Sparkassen trophy after a draw in the fourth round and final ‘No Castling’ game ‘against Longtime Sagar Vladimir Kramnik from Russia on Sunday.
Playing white in variations Tarrasch, Anand, a former world champion, settled a draw in 40 steps, to win the match 2.5-1.5.
Maestro India won the opening match series before the next three ended up with a dead end.
Kramnik, also a former world champion, has forced a draw in the third match on Saturday to stay alive of his chances to flatten the score in four matches.
This event is played as part of the “no-castling” chess designed by Russian GM.
Castling is not allowed in this format in an effort to make the game more attractive.
Castling is a special step to protect the king and activate the fort.
This is the only time in chess, players can move two pieces in one movement.
Anand has returned to the top of the Board Action in the Croatian Chess Chess Tournament in Zagreb last week and took the second position as a whole (fast and flash combined parts).
