No CET for Art, Science, Trade College: Maharashtra Govt

Pune: There will be no general entrance test (CET) for non-professional courses and entrance tickets to art, science and trade will on the basis of class 12 marks, the Maharashtra government said on Wednesday.
The CET course for engineering will be held in two sessions between September 4 to 20.
When the number of students who pass the High School Certificate (HSC 12) exam has increased this year, the university has been asked to send proposals to increase.
Division in college, said Minister for Higher Education and Technical Uday Samant.
“There is a request from several quarters not to have provisions for non-professional courses.
After discussion with all universities, it has been decided that acceptance to art, trade and science will be based on the 12th grade exam,” he said reporter here.
As for hotel management, science, architecture and hotel management courses, Cets for them will be held from August 26, the minister said.

“For technical courses, CET will be held in two sessions.
The first session will be held between September 4 to 10 and the second between 14 and September 20,” he said.
The CETS course for LLB will start from September 16.
“We have decided to increase the number of centers where CETS will be done,” said Samant.
The state government will make decisions in the next eight days to reopen universities after considering the Covid-19 situation in their respective districts, he said.
“Director of higher education has been asked to speak with all the administrations and universities,” added the minister.
