No CET for BSc admissions: Karnataka deputy CM Ashwath Narayana

BENGALURU: The strategy to expand the frequent Entrance Test (CET) into BSc classes was dropped, greater education minister and deputy CM CN Ashwath Narayana stated on Tuesday.
The proposed movement was dubbed by academicians and pupils alike as an added barrier to admissions in mathematics classes at which seats remain empty anyhow.
The deputy CM declared after a meeting vice-chancellors about the instructional calendar.
Narayana had mooted the suggestion a week, stating because II PU examinations are cancelled, CET marks might eventually become the foundation for undergraduate admissions.
In the assembly, vice-chancellors have been requested to start next academic year at October first week planned before.
Semester exams will need to be conducted shortly and VCs are likely the dates,” the ministry stated.
At present, schools are holding semester courses while a few odd-semester examinations are now pending.

“Each varsity was requested to provide a provisional schedule by Thursday.
Karnataka State Higher Education Council will issue the last calendar after these input signals,” explained VTU VC Karisidappa.
VTU has two impending documents linked to strange semesters.
“As of today, we aspire to run offline examinations for final-year pupils in August.
Another semester tests will be stored at batches by August-September.
Tests will be held just after pupils can be obtained, offline courses ”
Venugopal KR, the vice-chancellor of Bangalore University, stated:”Our perspective is that examinations for odd semesters could be held at another one month later after giving 15 days’ notice for students.
This is sometimes followed by online courses.
Offline classes ought to be held just after pupils and educators are the pandemic is in check.
Institutions must plan on the best way best to have them vaccinated.
Tests for semesters can follow along with the session may wind from September.” TD Kemparaju, VC of Bengaluru North University, stated VCs are expecting offline courses can be initiated from July 15.
“If we must reopen hostels, pupils have to be vaccinated.
Pending examinations for unusual and even semesters along with the courses need to be finished by September,” he explained.
“VCs and faculty chiefs have a societal obligation.
They have to make sure all pupils over 18 are now vaccinated.
Academic work must proceed on and we must seek out answers,” the Union tweeted.
“We intend to have evening schools in metro towns and are investigating options to establish interdisciplinary programs in certain schools of VTU.”
University gateway trial in June 25:
The Unified University College Management System, an internet portal-based program developed by the division of E-Office, will begin a trial conducted from June 25.
The machine is anticipated to be established by July 15.
