No country must increase parliamentary problems related to other countries’ internal affairs: Om Birla

New Delhi: Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Thursday confirmed that no country had to raise on parliamentary issues related to internal affairs of other countries.
Birla, who led the Indian Parliament Delegation for the G20 Summit of parliamentary speakers in Rome, held a bilateral meeting on Thursday with Lindsay Hoyle, a speaker from the United Kingdom House of Commons.
According to a statement of a Sabha Secretariat, Birla said that on the occasion of each country had its own sovereignty whose countries must respect.
No country must increase internal affairs of other countries in parliament, unless they affect the interests of the country, he said, quoting Birla.
Both leaders agreed that their parliamentarians had to exchange views through parliamentary diplomacy and try to find out how democratic institutions could be strengthened for the benefit of the people.
The statement of Birla’s speaker came with a background of several members of the British parliament raised the issue of farmers’ protest against three Agri laws enacted last year.
Previously on that day, Birla made intervention in the first work session on “the social response and labor crisis caused by a pandemic.” Speaking on the occasion, Birla underscores that in order to face a global disaster in the future there is a need to treat the whole world as One family and formulate an integrated and coordinated strategy to deal with global issues.
He said the parliament must work together towards this goal.
The Lok Sabha Speaker emphasizes that priority must formulate a development policy that ensures the welfare of all parts of the community.
