NAGPUR: For fifth day in a row, Vidarbha reported under 10 fatalities while new cases were below 300 for third day in a row.
No Covid death was reported in six districts — Bhandara, Wardha, Gondia, Yavatmal, Washim and Akola.
Among the day’s nine deaths, the highest were from Chandrapur and Amravati at three each, while one each was reported from Nagpur, Gadchiroli and Buldhana.
In Nagpur, the lone death was of a patient belonging to outside district.
No death took place in Nagpur city and rural.
No death has been reported in Nagpur rural in last two days while city too hasn’t seen a death on a couple of occasions in the last few days.
Nagpur district’s new cases were at 46, including 20 from rural and 25 from city, reported from 9,413 tests.
All the five public labs reported positive cases in single digits.
Of the day’s 294 cases in region, Nagpur contributed 46, Bhandara (1), Wardha (13), Gondia (8), Chandrapur (18), Gadchiroli (29), Akola (37), Amaravati (37), Yavatmal (15), Buldhana (73) and Washim (17).
Recoveries were still higher than new cases at 532, taking the rate to 97.8%.
Now, 3,312 patients are under treatment.
Gadchiroli: The district reported one death, taking the toll to 739, 29 new cases and 10 recoveries.
Now, there are 227 patients under treatment.
Washim: There was no Covid death.
The daily cases decreased to 17 while 41 patients recovered.
The toll is 615 now and 301 are active cases.
Bhandara: The district reported one case and no Covid death, leaving the toll at 1,125.
Day’s recoveries were 17, leaving 86 active cases.
Gondia: No Covid death was reported but there were 13 new cases.
There were 18 recoveries.
Number of patients under treatment is 46.
Buldhana: The district witnessed 73 new Covid cases.
One Covid death took place.
According to official data, the district reported 54 recoveries.
This left 118 active cases.
Akola: There were 101 recoveries against 37 new cases.
No Covid death was reported.
The active cases are 227.
Amravati: A spike of 37 cases and three deaths took the district’s Covid caseload to 95,726 and toll to 1,546, respectively, on Wednesday.
With 101 getting discharge in the day, the total recoveries have reached 93,537.
This left 643 patients under treatment.
Yavatmal: On seventh consecutive day, the district reported zero Covid death on Wednesday, thus keeping the toll unchanged at 1,789.
Of the 1,080 test reports received in the day, 15 were found Covid positive.
Currently there are 64 patients undergoing treatment in hospitals.
Of the 72,671 total patients detected so far, 70,821 including 13 on Wednesday have recovered.
The district’s test positivity rate is 10.75% and death rate 2.46%.
The daily positivity rate is at 1.39 %.
Wardha: Thirteen Covid patients were detected out of 1,345 test reports, taking the caseload to 49,148 on Wednesday.
Also, 16 patients were discharged, thus the total recoveries have gone up to 47,735, while 93 patients are under treatment.
The Covid toll remained unchanged at 1,320 as no death was reported in the day.
New cases detected in the day include six from Hinganghat, Wardha 4 and Karanja 3.
Chandrapur: There were 18 detections and 28 recoveries on Wednesday leaving 596 patients under treatment.
Three deaths during the day took the Covid toll to 1,522.
Total caseload has climbed to 84,592, while total recoveries amount to 84,474.
