Lucknow: Of the 550 samples collected from various parts of Uttar Pradesh, not a sample tested positive for the Delta variant plus Coronavirus, according to a report submitted to the Chairman of the Yogi Adityanath Minister on Tuesday.
The state government has sent samples to sequencing genomes to Delhi’s Institute of Genomic and Biology based in Delhi, Scientific Research Council and Research Industry (CSIR).
“Samples are sorted for different strains of Coronavirus and more than 80% are found from the Delta variant.
There are no samples are isolated for Delta plus strains,” said additional Head Secretary (ACS), information, Navneet Sehgal, said, adding that the report was submitted Before CM in Tim-9 meeting on Tuesday.
According to experts, the Delta Plus variant can trigger the third wave anticipated from the Coronavirus pandemic.
More than 50 Delta Plus Strains have been detected in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Kerela, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, Rajasthan, Jammu & Kashmataka.
CM has directed officials to make measurements and supervision steps along the entry point in the district.
He has also issued instructions for regular sample genome sequencing in laboratories in the state.
Labs at Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS), Medical University of King George (KGMU) and Institute of Science at the University of Banaras Hindu (IMS-BHU) have begun working.
Previously, assessment by the Ministry of Health and the welfare of the Union family indicated that more than 90% of cases during the second wave above were caused by the Delta variant.
