No Disease prevention panel in 35 Covid hosps, HC Advised

Nagpur: The mucormycosis district task force has shown to this Nagpur bench of Bombay high court a fact-finding questionnaire by specialists discovered 35 Covid hospitals operating with no disease prevention committees.
The task force has also issued a 12-point Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to hospitals concerning different disease control processes.

The court had directed police to produce labour and other facilities accessible to conduct surveys of hospitals in town and provide a report prior to it.
Senior counselor Shreerang Bhandarkar was appointed amicus curiae at the PIL.
From 161 hospitals, 119 were researched through the workout.

Approximately 88 hospitals were running microbiological surveillance while 85 had disease control nurses.
District collector Ravindra Thakare, via an affidavit, also advised the court which microbiological surveillance had been conducted in the 3 government medical schools (GMCH, both Mayo and also AIIMS) although not regularly performed in two private medical schools, Shalinitai Meghe Hospital, along with Lata Mangeshkar Hospital, equally in Hingna.
The affidavit also underlined that disease prevention committee meetings weren’t conducted regular basis.
According to the affidavit, admissions are served on the defaulting hospitals from the task force member and also health care officer, wellness, Nagpur Municipal company (NMC) Dr Sanjay Chilkar.
In the same way, personal medical schools were issued note by secretary of this job force Dr Deepak Selokar, who’s additionally District Heath Officer (DHO).
The police have requested the hospitals with no infection control panel and microbiological surveillance to follow the required guidelines and also revert.
The court has been also offer the listing of hospitals in which these committees and surveillance were not set up.
