No fixed timeline that can be demonstrated now to complete Covid vaccination but all 18-plus populations are expected to get JAB on December 21: Center

New Delhi: The center on Friday told Lok Sabha that there was no fixed line that could be indicated now to settle the Covid-19 vaccination drive in this country considering the nature of a dynamic and developing pandemic, but it is expected that all beneficiaries aged 18 years and over Inoculated in December this year.
At the same time, the center confirmed that the rate of covid vaccination in India was among the fastest in the world.
The central position of the speed of vaccination against Covid was spelled by the Minister of Health Union Mansukh Mandaviya.
An identical reply was given by his deputy Bharati Pravin Pawar in the lower house in a response to the question by Congressman Rahul Gandhi and TMC Mala Roy whether the government proposed to complete the implementation of full Covid vaccination from all adults at the end of the year.
, Pawar also said there was no delay in entering the purchase agreement with domestic covid vaccine producers and advances payments have also been made for orders for offers placed with them.
Mandaviya said Covid-19 vaccination was a ongoing and dynamic process, which was guided by the National Expert Group on the administration of vaccines for Covid-19 (Negvac) based on simultaneous scientific evidence.
“Given the dynamic nature and evolving Pandemic Covid-19, no fixed timelines can now be indicated for settlement of vaccination drive, however, it is expected that all recipients aged 18 years and above will be vaccinated in December 2021,” he said.
On related issues, Mandaviya said while there was an instance of waste vaccine in the state and territory of the United States (UTS), but additional doses have also been extracted from the bottle given according to the co-win portal.
“The dose of the wasted vaccine and the maximum dose that might be extracted outside the number labeled to reach the vaccine waste rate for a country,” he said.
Mandaviya responded to the question of whether the state / UTS did not compensate for vaccination and remove the dose.
“Between May 1, 2021 to July 13, 2021, a total of 2.49 lakh wasted doses, while the extra dose of 41.12 lakh was extracted outside the amount labeled,” he said.
Asked whether the government realized that many inoculation sites were closed due to a vaccine disobedience there, the Pawar said there was no shortage of vaccines and that the central government had provided free vaccine supplies and UTS for administration to prioritize beneficiaries as recommended by Negvac.
Advanced visibility of vaccine allocation – total dosage that will be available for countries and UTS – provided 15 days beforehand to allow them to plan vaccination coverage while being aware of the available vaccines, he added.
For questions whether the government has recorded a significant delay in making a purchase agreement in advance with vaccine producers, thus affecting the rate of vaccine launch, the minister said there was no delay in the purchasing agreement with the producer purchasing vaccine.
Advances payment has also been made for manufacturers for supply orders placed with them, he added.
In the quantum of funds spent on vaccination programs, Pawar said Rs 9,725.15 Crore has so far been spent including the procurement of vaccines and operational costs for vaccination.
