NEW DELHI: The government has no motive to postpone adjusting minimum wages and federal floor salaries, the labor ministry said on Saturday.
The caution comes amid reports that forming an expert group about the matter with long-term is an effort to postpone adjusting minimum wages and federal floor salaries.
Before this season, the ministry declared that the Centre has included an expert group under the chairmanship of famous economist Ajit Mishra to offer technical inputs and recommendations on mending those salaries.
The tenure of this pro group is three decades.
“It’s come to the note that particular element of the Press and a few of the stakeholders have opined such as an effort to postpone the fixation of Minimum Wages and National Floor Rewards from the authorities.
“That is explained that the government doesn’t have any intention as well as the Expert Group would publish its recommendations on the authorities as soon as you can,” the ministry stated.
The tenure of this expert group was retained as three decades so that after adjusting minimum wages and domestic floor salaries, the authorities may find technical inputs/advice in the group related issues, as and if demanded, it further stated.
The very first meeting of this team had been held June 14, 2021 and the next is scheduled for June 29, it included.
