NEW DELHI: The Dominican authorities on Wednesday said that it has no objection in deporting Mehul Choksi into India.
Even the Dominican high court has adjourned the hearing at the event till tomorrow.
Choksi is going to be made before the magistrate in 4 pm (Dominica period ) because according to their legislation when Dominica police detain somebody, he’s got to be introduced before court at 72 hours and that was not done before.
A battery of attorneys from both the sides had been contained at the hearing of this situation.
Mehul Choksi didn’t turned up in court to the hearing.
He attended a video phone in the hospital bed at Dominica China Friendship Hospital.
Meanwhile, the Choksi’s attorneys are getting ready to submit an appeal from the greater court if there be no verdict contrary to their customer.
Choksi was arrested in Dominica for illegal entrance after his mysterious disappearance from Arabian Caribbean state Antigua and Barbuda at which he had been staying because 2018 later visiting India in January this year.
In days, the scam came to light.
The fugitive diamantaire had obtained the citizenship of Antigua and Barbuda in 2017 with its own Treaty by Investment plan.
Choksi along with also his nephew Nirav Modi have been desired for allegedly siphoning Rs 13,500 crore of public funds from your state-run Punjab National Bank (PNB) utilizing letters of project.
Both are confronting CBI along with ED probe.
While Modi is at a London prison after being denied bond and has been contesting his extradition to India, Choksi took citizenship of Antigua and Barbuda at 2017 before tripping India from the first week of January 2018.
