Patiala: Even a month after deciding to reject the power agreement with GVK and notify two other independent electrical producers (IPPS) that they by default, Punjab Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) is sitting on this notification.
The state government approved the PPA refusal of recommendations from the PSPCL Committee three members who have observed the unit level to Rs 10 compared to Rs 3 to 3.50 in national exchanges.
To Talwandi Sabo Power Limited (TSPL) and Nabha Power Limited (NPL), the state government will present notifications only for default and not ppas termination.
Succeeded, the PSPCL chairman and managing director A Venu Parsad said: “So far, notification of rejection or default is not served for one of the three IPPs in Punjab but we will do it soon.” The three members who suggested rejection also observed that GVK had the lowest advantages of three IPPs because of the higher variable level and a lower quantum quantum, while the corporation must pay full capacity fees for availability.
The committee also anticipates that the state will strengthen its transmission and ATC systems (available transfer capabilities) will rise 500 to 1,000 megawatts next year, and with another 1,000 MW in the next few years.
It is expected and this will help PSPCL get a much cheaper electricity for the rice sabur season from the short-term market to offset the loss of the generation of GVK.
A bulk of the electric rice season goes to agricultural tube wells, because of this planting plant.
The PSPCL committee stated in its last report to the state government that: “From the financial year 2018-19 to 2020-21, the country surrendered 5,737 million units (Mus) energy, while paying a fixed cost of Rs 1,017 Crore.
The cost of surrender from this plant is RS 142 Crore, 610 Crore, and 265 Crore in 2018-19, 2019-20, and 2020-21, while the average unit price (fixed variable) GVK remains in Rs 6.63, Rs 10.02, and Rs 7.53, each each to avoid losses that protect the interests of consumers, PPA refusal is a must.
Not the interests of the state to continue with GVK.
“Some experts in the energy sector claim that turning off the NPL and TSPL will have the least impact, because of the ATC / TTC punjab limit (total transfer In total) will increase, which allows it to import more electricity, as quoted in a study with the North Load Dispatch area of the TTC / ATC Punjab limit to import power from the North Grid.
