Bhubaneswar: Political parties, whose members voted during election to the Office of the President and Vice President of Zilla Parisad, can appoint the authorized agent during the poll.
The official agent of political parties can verify the selection of voters / parties as to whom such voters have voted before voters insert voting paper into the ballot box.
The election commission of the State Election (SEC) has issued formal notifications based on amendments made in the Odisha Zilia Parishad election rule, 1994 by the Pancayati Raj State Department.
Previously, there was no provision to appoint an official agent by political parties during the election to the office of President Zilla Parishad and vice-president, who was elected from members of Zilla Parisad chosen during Pancrayat polls.
