Jaipur: Smart Roads Project to modernize the market in the pink city has been stopped in the middle by Jaipur Smart City Limited (JSCL) because it is not a cost-effective project.
Two of the eight smart roads are finished, while plans for others have been removed.
In the original plan, eight roads of the market must be renovated under the Projects of Smart City – Kishanpole, Chandpole, Eve, Johari Market, Bapir Bazaar, Ganges Market, Sanjay and Tripoliya Market.
However, after Kishhanpole and Chandpole markets, JSCL had decided to call work because it was very expensive for them.
Awdhesh Meena, JSCL Chief Executive said, “The total cost of eight roads is Rs 145 Crore, but only in these two roads, we have to spend RS 45 Crore.
Because of political interference, the issue of market associations and opposition locals, found not worthy of work .
Therefore, we decided to stop the job after two roads.
“The walled city market association, however, is ready to adjust for the construction of a smart road.
Subhash Goyal, President Jaipur Vyapaar Mahasangh said, “We support building smart roads throughout the walled city but work must be done on time.
When the road was built on the Chandpole market, we closed our store for six months to work with officials.
We wanted work This is done in other parts of the market too.
“There are many works started by JSCL, which is now delayed for months and shop owners facing problems.
