NOIDA: The Noida Police on Monday said that they have arrested two men for allegedly posing as officials in the Delhi Police’s Crime Branch and extorting money from individuals. If confronted by a policeman, the accused, that battled several individuals in Delhi and NCR, could become away by telling them they had been out of the”media”, officials explained. “The duo targeted folks on streets. They’d prevent motorcycles or automobiles and inform the occupant which they are in the Crime Branch of the Delhi Police and had to examine the car’s records,” a police spokesperson said. “Afterwards, on the other pretext, they’d extort money from those or threaten to get them detained,” the officer stated. Four days before, that the duo had likewise extorted Rs 4,500 by a two-wheeler rider over the Mahamaya flyover from Noida who subsequently approached the Sector 58 police station and also received an FIR lodged, resulting in his arrest, according to the official.
