Lucknow: The anti-terrorist squad Uttar Pradesh (ATS) broke the VoIP routing racket (voice over internet) and arrested two people in Noida on Sunday.
The defendant, Abhay Mishra and Shams Tahir Khan, who operated the racket using false identity (each like Aditya and Tustar Sharma) was arrested from the 153 sector in Noida.
ATS also recovers cables, routers, laptops and telephone lines of private telecommunications companies.
ATS officials said the people arrested had run rackets for the past two months.
DYSP, ATS, Atul Kumar Yadav said the defendant, violated the rules issued by the Government of India (Trai), changing VoIP calls into voice calls, causing loss of income to value.
“Abhay Mishra is a techie who uses software to convert internet calls to normal.
According to the rules, VoIP calls that land in India must only be done on VoIP.

ATS officers say the routing call VoIP not only causes income loss but also pose a risk of threats to the country’s security.
ATS will seek their detention from the court on Monday and question them about their partners involved in evil and if they run more centers like that.
An officer who knew the probe said ATS would also look at the bank account from the defendant and the money they got through the racket.
