Noida: Arun Vihar residents raised complaints against the vendor zone planned by Noida authorities near Ward number 11 sector 37 quoting security limits and movements.
They said that while the authority planned a slot for 100 vendors in the area, the vendor zone proposed contrary to the sector gate 37 and adjacent to Ward 11A from this sector and caused discomfort in movement and was a security problem.
Sanitation problems are also expected to increase because more waste will be disposed of to an open drain from shops and kiosks to be arranged in the area.
Colonel (retirees) IP Singh, Chair of the Welfare Association of Arun Vihar, said that vendors in the Brahmaputra market have created a lot of discomfort for the population.
“Now to add to our misery, the authority is planning a new policy for vendors and plans to make the entire area of the side of the church to the Ambedkar market in sector 37 as a zone vendor.
Authority has installed an announcement board in the area which states that around 100 kiosks will come here , “he said.
He added that the policy was made to ignore the concerns of the population.
“Residents feel that once the vendor zone is established, some unknown people will roam in this sector.
