Noida: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday held a two-hour interaction with an Indian contingent that would take part in the Tokyo Paralympic match.
The Indian team includes Noida District Judge Suhas Ly, who is currently ranked third as a para-badminton player.
Suhas was chosen by the Badminton World Federation Federation (BWF) for the Paralimpiad Olympics along with the other three.
Paralympics will be held in Tokyo from August 24 to September 5 and India will start their campaign from August 27.
There were 54 paragraph athletes representing the country in seven sports events, including archery and badminton.
Noida DM said the Prime Minister had asked all participants to stay calm and play their best games without pressing too much pressure on themselves.
Suhas (37) was an IAS 2007 officer from cadres and Hail from Karnataka.
He posted as Noida District Judge in March last year, when the Covid number began to rise.
“I went with an open mind and would try to give my best performance without thinking about the results.
It is an honor to represent your country in the highest sports arena in the world.
This is a privilege and very little chance and I hope I will be able to make the country Proud, “he said.
Suhas must shake between his duty as DM and his training session.
“I practice for three hours every day.
But they are dedicated hours, when I just focus on the game,” he said.
He did an hour of physical training in the morning and two hours of training in court late at night after work.
The district judge has defended his world’s degree since the pandemic made brakes in major tournaments over the past year.
The last international tournament he played was Brazil opened in January 2019 and Peru opened in February 2019, won gold in both.
This is a qualification for Paralympics.
