GREATER NOIDA: Four men allegedly befriended a youth on Grindr, called him to a vacant paying guest facility in Greater Noida, thrashed him and then forced him into unnatural sex.
The accused also filmed the act and threatened to make the video viral if he failed to pay them Rs two lakh.
All the four have been arrested.
According to police, the youth is active on the popular gay dating app and had befriended Sikandrabad resident Gautam.
As the duo started chatting, they decided to meet and Gautam called him to his paying guest facility in C-68, Beta II Sector, where he works as a caretaker.
“The youth, a polytechnic diploma holder, informed Gautam that he was coming for an interview in a company in Kasna after which they could meet.
After his interview, the victim reached the paying guest facility where he found that three other men were already present,” sub inspector Anuj Kumar of the SOG team of Beta II police, said.
The youth was soon beaten up by the accused and forced to establish sexual relations with them.
“The accused filmed the act as well as that of the act of beating and made the youth transfer Rs 5,000 from his PhonePe account,” he said.
Additional DCP (Greater Noida) Vishal Pandey said that the accused later started demanding Rs two lakh from the youth threatening him to make the objectionable videos viral.
All the threats were made via the 2nd Line mobile app meant for Wi-Fi calling.
While two of the accused, Gautam (20) and Gaurav (23), are brothers, the two others, Sachin (26) and Mohit (25), are their cousins.
Except Gautam, all the accused are jobless.
Police said that since the youth was jobless and unable to give the money to them, he gave a complaint to the Beta II police and an investigation was started.
On Thursday, all the four accused were arrested.
Cops also recovered the mobile phone used to make the videos.
However, police claimed to have found as many as 10-12 videos in the mobile phone, establishing that the accused had similarly duped more people.
“There are at least 10-12 videos in the phone,” Kumar said.
Sachin was previously jailed for allegedly threatening an assistant engineer of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD).
Cops said that around three years ago, Sachin, along with some others, trapped an assistant engineer of MCD in a similar manner and demanded Rs 1.80 crore from his parents.
“Delhi Police had arrested the accused in that case,” a police officer said.
Beta II police have lodged an FIR against the four accused youths under sections 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 342 (punishment for wrongful confinement), 377 (unnatural offences) and 384 (punishment for extortion).
