Noida: Noida and Ghaziabad said they had more covid beds than there were during the deadly second wave and could be activated according to the case surge.
Covid numbers in twin districts have begun to rise again after the pause for several months.
While Ghaziabad reported 85 cases so far this month, there are 113 cases in Noida.
Ghaziabad has 55 active cases, where 52 patients are in house isolation.
Noida has 56 patients, all of which recover at home.
So far, eight people in Ghaziabad and Noida have been tested positive after returning from abroad.
Head of Medical Head of Nida Sunil Sharma said the strategy to increase the number of hospitals or beds was based on the number of cases reported in this district.
The bed will increase when Covid cases reach 10%, 25% and 50% of the peak of the previous wave.
Covid hospital, he said, has been identified and can be disposed of in a short time.
During the second wave, Noida has around 3,000 hospital beds, which can be increased to 4,500 this time, according to officials.
There is a setting of around 450 pediatric beds too.
Ghaziabad is also ready with his emergency plan.
RK Gupta District Supervision Officer said a Covid Management Committee, led by district judges, had monitored the daily scenario.
All senior administrative and health officials have been given a special role, starting from supervision, contact contacts, RRT deployment and reference services.
“During the second wave, around 3,500 beds are available.
This time, around 4,000 beds have been identified,” he told Toi.
Meanwhile, after reporting 34 cases in the last three days, only two Covid cases were confirmed in Ghaziabad on Monday.
In Noida, five people were tested positively.
One of the patients in Ghaziabad – a 38-year-old man – has returned from Qatar on December 18 to his Vasundhara’s house.
The young man is a software engineer and works in the company there.
He will return to Qatar and so the test is done from the private lab.
Officials said the man had received a dose of astrazeneca and had no symptoms.
