Greater Noida: When it comes to premium liquor vends, twin cities Noida and Greater Noida have raised toast.
Over the past few months, more and more employers show interest in setting up a premium liquor in the city.
The license for such outlets was only introduced last year, and there were only five bells at first.
But with time, 10 more stores have appeared on the Hypermarket or Supermarket Noida and Greater Noida.
Officials said the Excise Ministry will track the process of giving the permission in the future fiscal to drive more jumping premium liquor in the city.
“License updates from existing stores will begin in a few weeks, as soon as the policy for 2021-22 comes out.
We will reach the existing players to find out whether they want to update their license or not.
Some of the owners of the Premium liquor have approached us and We will accelerate their approval, “said RB Singh, District Excise Officer.
Those in the business said the absence of quota systems and low licensing costs attracted more and more people to invest in trading premium liquor.
Shiva Kaushik and her family are one of them who sniffed profits in liquor.
“We have operated two retail stores in Noida.
This is the first time we opened into the premium segment.
This is a direct business, without much pressure or tension,” said Kaushik, owner with a drink lab at Supertech North Eye in Sector 74, one The first store that is open in the city.
Asked why, Kaushik explained, “Only interested in buying expensive liquor or beer comes to this premium jump.
Prices are clearly displayed on bottles stored on the shelf.
This makes a little space for confusion.” Difference in the cost of licenses to open the premium outlet And the off shop is also a major factor.
The annual license fee for the premium vend is Rs 12 Lakh while it is to run a beer or English wine outlet comparatively more.
The final license fee for the last two categories can end two or even three basic rates after the auction.
Senior officials from the Excise Ministry said the license fee for premium vends had been stored on the bottom side intentionally.
“Rentals to open stores in hypermarkets or supermarkets in the main area of the city also remain steep.
Also, it is important to have a smooth extension process for these players so they do not need to worry about investing a large number of interiors and infrastructure,” said an official from Lucknow .
Some locations where vends of premium liquor has appeared in the city recently is Garden Galleria, The Great Indian Place Mall, DLF Mall of India, Gaur City Mall and Gaur City Center.
But not all are encouraging home bar licenses.
None of the residents showed interest in the permit, which was introduced in April last year.
The idea is to offer licenses to those who store large amounts of liquor bottles at home or have a mini bar.
Officials say the cost of home bars is worth RS 12,000 per year along with a guarantee of RS 51,000.
“I can only remember two or three people from Kanpur who have filed a license so far,” Lucknow official said.
