NOIDA: The Noida Police on Monday said that it has detained a suspected drug trafficker here and captured almost 30 pound of cannabis.
The defendant a part of a bigger community of a drug syndicate operating from the Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR), officials explained.
Lalit Gupta was detained within a fortnight of seizure around 100 kg of cannabis here,” he stated.
“On June 2, a group of Phase-2 police station officials had detained three men and also recovered approximately 100 million cannabis in them.
Among those accused was police remand and through interrogation, he disclosed to authorities a few of his connections and community,” a police spokesperson said.
“According to the data, Lalit Gupta, who hails from Hathras district from western Uttar Pradesh, was nabbed on Monday afternoon and 29.60 pound of cannabis, estimated value Rs 3 lakh, was captured by him” the spokesperson said.
Gupta has a criminal background in drug-related instances and continues to be reserved twice — at 2012 and also 2019 — from authorities in his home area of Hathras, ” the officials stated.
They stated a new FIR was lodged at the Phase-2 police station under terms of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
Authorities are further afield connections of those instances to a larger drug racket propagate in Delhi-NCR, ” the officials stated.
