Ghaziabad: At least 2,230 more people tested positive for Covid in the last 24 hours in Gautam Budh Nagar, catapulted the number of active cases to 9,267, up from 7,099 it was recorded a day again.
With new cases, this district also recorded a one-day surge in the highest since May 5 last year when 1,822 cases were recorded, said health officials.
The sampling level of the sample continued to exceed 34% over the past 24 hours, they said.
At present, 88 patients underwent treatment for infections in the district.
The health bulletin released by the State Health Department showed that 12 districts in Uttar Pradesh had more than 1,000 active cases and the list was ended with GB Nagar, followed by Lucknow (8,168).
Ghaziabad, who recorded 1,581 new cases that day, currently has 7,518 active infections.
Along with Meerut (5,597 active cases), four districts contributed more than 50% of the total active case expenses in the state, officials said.
On Tuesday, Ghaziabad recorded 1,679 new infections, which was a one-day surge that had been recorded by the district since the pandemic began in March 2020.
In the last 24 hours, the sample peposititivity rate has been recorded at 18%.
, said the district health official, added that at least 23 patients were received in different hospitals.
From them, 17 were treated at a government hospital.
Officials said decisions regarding patient receipts to hospital were taken by an integrated Covid command center.
At present, four private hospitals in the district have been converted into covid care facilities and have 250 beds.
This can be upgraded to 400 beds, officials said.
