Noida: Police Noida on Thursday caught a 25-year-old man who was accused of torturing and killed his wife with his family on the claim of cash in RS 2 Lakh and the car at marriage, officials said.
The couple married in December last year and lived in Chhalera Village, who came under the jurisdiction of the Sector Police Office 39, the official said.
Not satisfied with dowry, husband, his parents and his younger brother physically and mentally harassed women (22), who came from the Mainpuri District, since the marriage of the couple, his father accused.
“The family, who came from the Auraiyya District, wanted more Rs 2 Lakh and the car at Mahar after marriage.
I did not have the financial condition to bear the costs of all after the marriage,” he accused the police complaint.
The woman was found dead at her husband’s house on August 23 after that FIR was filed based on her father’s complaint.
“Her husband demanded an additional battle from his wife’s family.
He tortured his wife because he did not meet the demands, which led to his death on August 23.
The defendant was arrested,” said a police spokesman.
The defendant had been ordered under the Indian Code of India 498A (female abuse for violating legal requests), 398B (Dowry Death) and under the relevant provisions of the Dowry Prohibition Act, police said.
