Noida: A 44-year-old man who greeted his wife and mother-in-law who wasolated in kerosene and burned them, died after he had accidentally burned himself, police said.
On Wednesday, Mohandas, a car driver from Malda in West Bengal, entered his wife’s house rented Lakshmi (40) in Hajipur and poured kerosene and his mother Kiran (25) and burned it.
The two women earned a living as housekeeping staff in the nearest housing community and prepared to go to work when Mohandas broke into the house.
According to the police, because Mohandas’s hand also had kerosene on them, he was also burning.
The 44-year-old player suffered 90% burning and died at Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi at around 2:30 p.m.
His wife Lakshmi fought against 80% of burns while Kiran suffered 40% burns.
Even though the couple was married for 20 years, Mohandas and Lakshmi always had a tense relationship.
“Mohandas is a drinker habit and will spend all his income with liquor and gambling.
He will not contribute one cent to household expenses.
My sister will fight with him.
After all, he must start working in other people’s houses to pay for room rentals and Other expenses, “said Shiv Kumar, Lakshmi’s brother.
The couple has two sons and daughters.
Over the past year, Mohandas and Lakshmi have remained separate.
While Lakshmi has taken a rental house in Hajipur, Mohandas lives in Morna Village.
The three couple children lived with him.
The divorce petition was being heard by a family court.
“Some Panchayats have been held in Morno and Hajipur villages in connection with their regular domestic fight,” Kumar said.
A few weeks ago, Mohandas had shifted to a house near Lakshmi’s rented accommodation in Hajipur.
ACP 1 Ankita Sharma said Mohhandas had planned to kill his wife and mother-in-law and so brought a bottle of kerosene with him.
Even though the police said the driver of the car caught fire on an accident, Kumar claimed he died of suicide.
“My brother-in-law burned himself.
He often tells my sister that if he doesn’t live with him, he will commit suicide,” Kumar said.
Sub-inspector of Rajesh Kumar, who reached Lakshmi’s house with his team after getting information about the murder attempt, said he took the three injured people to Yatharth’s hospital in the car when the ambulance took the time to arrive.
“They can only get first aid in Yatharth.
We took them to the district hospital, from where they were referred to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi,” he added.
“My brother-in-law died around 14:30.
The doctor said my sister and mother were also critical,” Kumar said.
