Noida: Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) has decided to continue the AQUA line service between Noida and Greater Noida on Saturday, officials said on Friday.
The decision was taken considering the Uttar Pradesh government raised the curfew on Saturday, said the NMRC implementing director Maheshwari.
Previously, the government had imposed curfew due to the Covid-19 pandemic on Saturday and Sunday, with Metro Rail services between Noida and Greater Noida, also remained suspended for the weekend.
“The weekend clock has been appointed by the Government of Uttar Pradesh on Saturday.
Thus, NMRC has decided to continue the service of the Metro train on Saturday,” Maheshwari said.
“This change will take effect from August 14 and so on.
Train operations will not be there on Sundays because the state government has not raised the curfew on Sunday,” he added.
The train runs at a 10-minute interval during rush hour (8am to 11am to 8pm) and 15 minutes during non-peak hours from Monday to Friday, NMRC said.
Metro train services on Saturday will be available at intervals of 15 minutes throughout the day, he said.
Also, from August 14, NMRC said it would operate a metro train service from 6am to 10pm from Monday to Saturday.
