Noida: Nine alleged criminals were held in two separate shootings with police in Noida and Greater Noida in Gautam District Buddh Nagar, officials said on Friday.
The two meetings took place late Thursday, officials said.
The First Guara, who broke out in the 8 Noida sector, led to the arrest of a gang involved in a robbery at a leather garment factory in the city at the age of September 6, they said.
Deputy additional Commissioner of Police (Noida) Ranvijay Singh said one of the accusations arrested had worked as a security guard at a clothing store before planning a robbery with three others.
“We are investigating the robbery case and have input that the gang can attack again.
Bukat Baku broke out in sector 8, under the Sector Police Station 20, which led to the arrest of four men,” said Singh.
Seven sacks full of raw materials were robbed by them from the factory recovering from their car, which had been confiscated, he said.
Two defendants were injured in a shootout, police said.
The second incident took place in the Ecotech 3 police station in Greater Noida where the shootout broke out after the defendant was intercepted during the police examination, officials said.
“The defendant was on a different motorbike when they were intercepted for an investigation.
However, they fired a shot at the police party and tried to escape, leading to a shootout.
Three defendants crashed into their feet in a retaliation shot,” said a police spokesman.
The fifth was accused of being involved in the case of robbery in NCR in the past, it was arrested, the official said.
