Greater Noida: A private company manager allegedly robbed of cash by four people who offered him a ride in their car in Greater Noida on Thursday morning.
Police said Mrigendra Katariya, a resident of Beta 1, was waiting for automatic rickshaw near a private school when the four men stopped their car and offered him a ride to Delhi.
“They said they would drop me at the gate of my office.
A few minutes after the trip, four beat me and grabbed my debit card and Rs 12,000 in cash.
They also attract Rs 20,000 from my account using a card,” said Katariya.
“They attacked me with a screwdriver when I tried fighting.
They also closed my eyes,” he added.
Katariya, police said, was in the car for about an hour because the vehicle was engaged in the PI 1 sector and other nearby areas.
They dumped it near PI 1 after destroying the phone and SIM card.
Additional DCP Vishal Pandey said, “On the basis of complaints, FIR has been registered with unknown people under 392 (robbery) and 323 (voluntarily causing injuries) from IPC.
We have formed a team to capture the perpetrators.”
