Noida: A man has been captured by Gautam Budh Nagar police for allegedly deceiving retired army officers nearly Rs 6 lakh, the police said on Monday.
The defendant has been identified as Chetan Prakash Upadhyaya, a resident of Bikaner in Rajasthan.
“We have received complaints from the Col AK Rajpal (REPD), a resident of the Noida 29 sector in August 2021.
In the complaint, the victim stated that he had received a text message on his telephone which stated that his SMS service had been blocked..

Immediately after the complainant realized that he had been cheated, he reached the 20 police station and submitted a case.

The team reached the place and arrested him,” said ADCP.
The police have recovered five debit cards, five credit cards and one cellphone from ownership.
“We also scan the bank account details and find Rs 5.98 lakh.

The suspect has been involved in such fraud for the past year and has deceived several others.
