GREATER NOIDA: The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) on Wednesday cleared 8,000 sqm of encroached land in Gulistanpur.
Officials said the total worth of the land is around Rs 24 crore.
“Khasra numbers 176, 177 and 178 of village Gulistanpur was encroached upon by some persons due to which the important work of DFCC (Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation) project was disrupted for long.
We have cleared the land,” said KR Verma deputy general manager, project department, GNIDA.
The encroached land was freed under the presence of heavy police deployment from Surajpur and with the help of seven JCBs, seven dumper trucks and a large number of staff from GNIDA and the district administration.
“Post removal of the encroachment, the work on road construction has begun in the area,” said Verma.
Apart from Verma, others present during the drive were Praveen Salonia (senior manager at work circle 5), MK Dhariwal (manager), Jitendra Singh (deputy district officer from the land records department), police inspector Ajay Kumar, and the Surajpur police.
