Noida: An assistant ward working at Esic Hospital was arrested for allegedly beating his wife and twelve years after the video incident became a viral on social media.
According to the police, in a video of 39 seconds, Dhananjay Singh, can be seen thrashing the boy even when the latter can be seen crying and begging his father not to beat him.
The police intervened after the female family accused the defendant had a history of physical attacks and harassment of his wife.
“He suspected his wife had an extra wedding affair.
When their son tried to intervene, Dhananjay used a belt to hit him too,” said a police officer.
The video showed the woman who tried to stop Dhanjay but she kept beating and throwing a violation to the boy angrily.
Sector 24 Sho, Sudheer Kumar, told TOI that the family member of Dhananjay’s wife had alleged that before, he had attacked the woman several times.
“A FIR has been put forward against the man under the IPC 323 section (punishment because it voluntarily causes illness.) And 352 (anyone who attacks or uses a criminal power to anyone other than the great and sudden provocation given by the person), “Kumar said,” said adding that Dhananjay was arrested on Tuesday from the hospital.
Meanwhile, Kolga Dhanjay said the incident as a result of their personal problems stating that the husband and wife have a good reputation in the hospital.
