Noida: Two workers were killed after the lower wall of construction in the basement of a four-story building in Sector Noida 2 came down on Monday night.
The workers have worked in the basement and have tied the iron structure next to the new wall built in a single portion of the basement when the wall collapses.
While one of the deceased has been identified as a thirties of watershed, the second worker has not been identified.
According to the police, the incident occurred around 8pm when the side wall dropped when they bind the iron structure that was founded by the worker.
Sector 20 Sho Munish Chauhan told TOI that Gurpreet Reki, the owner of the A-35 building, sector 2, remained in the US and had provided a rental room.
“The work lasted for the past few days.
The owner was successfully carried out by the contractor named Raju who had brought three workers to the place,” a sub-inspector who reached the place told Tii.
Additional DCP (Noida) Ranvijay Singh told TII that in the list of buildings, entries were made by the name of Raju and three workers.
“One of the workers escaped from the place with Raju while two remained buried under the concrete structure,” he said.
The police were told a few minutes after the incident when the security guard lifted alarm.
When the police rushed to the place, it was too late because one of the workers had given up while the others counted their last breath.
“One of them was taken out of the debris while the others died on the way to the district hospital,” he said.
The police said that the incident was being seen and it was being examined.
