NEW DELHI: The Centre has asked the Punjab government to expedite the procedure for nominating a nodal officer along with 2 specialized persons for timely deployment and commissioning of pressure swing adsorption (PSA) oxygen production plants from 41 medical centers in the nation.
At an letter to Punjab Chief Secretary Vini Mahajan, Union Housing and Urban Affairs Secretary Durga Shanker Mishra stated there must likewise be an state-level nodal officer for coordinating with central bureaus.
The PSA oxygen production plants should be set up in 41 health centers in Punjab.
According to requests from countries and Union Territories, a total of 1,215 PSA plants are declared under the PM-Cares Fund from the nation, Mishra said.
From the letter dated June 16, the Union home and urban affairs secretary stated recent experience with all the Covid-19 pandemic has demonstrated the value of ensuring sufficient access to oxygen from hospitals.
He stated the installation of PSA plants from various health care centers would help prevent disruption of air equipment, decrease reliance on LMO storage and distribution of tanks or tanks.
“In place of criticalities caused by this Covid-19 pandemic, it’s very important that the site prep and allied actions are carried up on priority to timely installation and commissioning of their PSA plants in communicating with different stakeholders at appropriate degree in an assignment mode,” Mishra said.
He explained the nomination of a nodal officer along with two specialized men, that are still trained to run and purge PSA plants at every medical center, would assist in quick commissioning and performance of those plants.
