Norms set for Minor College Repair

Bhubaneswar: The Ministry of Higher Education on Monday issued guidelines for carrying out work of repair / renovation / small maintenance of university infrastructure / facilities without tender requirements or quotes of up to RS 15,000.
According to the order, annual expenditure ceiling for the work of repair / small maintenance / maintenance has been set at RS 3 Lakh for autonomous colleges and RS 2 Lakh for other government level universities, including teacher education institutions.
According to the guidelines, the College Development Board (CDC) will identify requirements and suggest to the Principal to take the works.
The final decision on the suggested works will be taken by the principal.
Since government implementing agencies, including the work department, public health engineering organizations and others, it took a long time to do small jobs such as repairs / replacement of doors / fittings toilets, fix fans / lights, small bricks / carpentry colors and color washed areas, departments Bring this guideline to ratify the principles of government universities to solve it by involving local communities.
Expendires for these works will be met from college funds and college development funds.
Because the expenditure limit for these works is set at RS 15,000 per occasion, there will be no tender requirements or quotes to do the work.
The possibility of expenses for these works will be resolved by the CDC with negotiations with the person concerned with local rates, the word guidelines.
However, the CDC must be satisfied from a lay perspective on the quantity and quality of work done before certifying for payment release.
Cleaning buildings and college buildings such as bush cuts, spider cleansing and special classroom cleaning can also be done in accordance with the guidelines as a minor maintenance job.
