New Delhi: North Corporation has filed a complaint with Delhi police on 18 parking locations running illegally on the road or public spaces without permission.
Civic’s body conducted a random inspection in the Karol Bagh Zone and City Paharganj on Saturday and found the parking space ran illegally.
“North Remunerative Project Project Remunerative Corporation and Zonal Authority made a special drive and found that many illegal parking spaces were operated by individuals on the road, public land, etc., and they illegally filled the parking fees from the public without permission.

Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Goel confirmed that Civic’s body had submitted 18 complaints of police at various police stations against Mafia parking on Saturday.
“We have asked the authorities to register FIR and take action against the parking mafia according to the law.
We also ask them to maintain strict vigilance to prevent the illegal business.
Total 13 complaints have been submitted regarding illegal parking in the city zone-conscious Paharganj and five in Karol Bagh zone.

Goel said the drive, which was ongoing over the past three weeks, will intensify further to ensure traffic movements and smooth pedestrians.
“We have taken various initiatives for the past month to improve parking management in our area, to increase income from parking sites and to prevent illegal charging from parking fees,” he said.
The North Corporation runs 133 parking sites, where 66 is operated and managed by official contractors and 67 has been declared as free parking to contractors to run this parking site through the e-tender process.
