Seoul: North Korea maintained his missile test as a legitimate right to defend himself and said the United States deliberately increased the situation by imposing new sanctions, the country’s media reported on Friday, citing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The development of “new weapons” of North Korea was recently part of its efforts to modernize its national defense capabilities, and did not target certain countries or endanger the security of neighboring countries, a spokesman for the North Korean Foreign Ministry said in a statement brought by the news agency Country KCNA.
The administration of US President Joe Biden on Wednesday imposed his first sanction on the North Korean weapons program after a series of North Korean missile launches, including two since last week.
North Korea said the weapon was a “hypersonic missile” which would increase its strategic military power.
US sanctions show that even though Washington can talk about diplomacy and dialogue, “it was still engrossed in its policy to isolate and inhibit” North Korea, a statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“The US charges of the DPRK legitimate practice of the right to defend themselves are clear provocations and logic like gangsters,” said the statement.
The DPRK is the initials of North Korea’s official name.
A spokesman warned “a stronger and certain reaction” which was not determined if the United States adopted a confrontational attitude.
