Seoul: North Korea fired alleged ballistic missiles to his eastern waters on Wednesday, the South Korean military and the Japanese military said, the first launch was like that in about two months in the midst of international diplomacy that was not active in the northern nuclear program.
The latest launch came after North Korean leader Kim Jong Un vowed to increase his military ability at the high-powered party conference last week.
South Korea’s chief of staff said in a statement of North Korea fired alleged ballistic missiles towards his eastern waters on Wednesday morning.
It was said by South Korea and US intelligence authorities tried to analyze more information about launch.
The Japanese Defense Ministry also detected the launch of North Korea, said the country might fire missiles.
“We felt really regrettable that North Korea continued to fire missiles from last year,” Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida told reporters.
Kishida said other details about the launch of North Korea were not immediately available, including where the alleged missile landed and whether there was damage.
He said he ordered officials to confirm ship safety and aircraft in the area where alleged missiles might fly and fall.
Wednesday’s launch was the first shooting like North Korea testing a series of newly developed weapons between September and November including nuclear missiles that put South Korea and Japan, both US main allies in the region, within a strike distance.
Some experts say North Korea apply more pressure on its rivals to accept it as a condition of nuclear power and to facilitate international sanctions in the country.
The Biden government has repeatedly said it is open to continuing nuclear diplomacy with North Korea “anywhere and anytime” without prerequisites.
North Korea has so far rebelled, saying unchanged hostility.
US-led diplomacy was aimed at convincing North Korea to leave its nuclear program collapsed in 2019 because of a fight for how much sanctions should be given to the north in return to dismantle the main nuclear complex, limited denuclirization steps.
Kim since it threatened to enlarge the nuclear and missile arsenal.
During the plenary meeting last week of the ruling working party committee, Kim repeated his oath to increase the country’s military capacity and ordered the production of a stronger and sophisticated weapons system.
State media delivery at the meeting said North Korea said “tactical direction” for North Korea’s external relations included with South Korea, but did not describe.
It did not mention the United States.
Last month, Kim marked 10 years in power.
