North Korean missile test poses ‘threat’ to neighbors: Pentagon

Washington: The United States military said the week’s missile test carried out by North Korea during the weekend submitted a ‘threat’ to the neighboring country and so on.
“This activity highlights the focus on the sustainable focus on the development of its military program and threats that give rise to neighbors and the international community,” said the United Pacific Indo Command in a statement, using the official North Name.
The media of North Korea reported on Monday morning local time the country had tested “long-range roaming missiles” on Saturday and Sunday, in the midst of a long deadlock with the United States on its nuclear program.
Missile takes the flight path of 1,500 kilometers (around 930 miles) – including the number-8 pattern – above North Korea and its territorial waters to reach their target, according to the official Korean Central News agency.
The report is called a “strategic weapon that is very important,” adding a successful test and giving the country “another effective prevention means” against “hostile troops.” North Korea is under international sanctions for its nuclear weapons and ballistic missile programs, which said they need to survive against the US invasion.
But Pyongyang is not prohibited from developing roaming missiles, which has been tested before.
The US Indo-Pacific command statement said the United States will “keep monitoring the situation and consulting closely with our allies and partners.” It reaffirms “commitment to defense” from North Korean neighbors South Korea and Japan “still ironing.” Seoul and Washington are allies of the agreement, with around 28,500 US troops placed in South Korea to defend it against their neighbors, which invaded in 1950.
The launch reported was the first since March in the north, which has not carried out nuclear tests or the launch of intercontinental ballistic missiles since 2017.
