Chennai: After the rain initially missed several districts including Chennai, northeast seemed to have taken steps as heavy rain which destroyed many areas in Tamil Nadu on Saturday.
The rain was triggered by a low pressure system that survived at Tamil Nadu Beach.
While more rain has been estimated for Chennai and the suburbs for the next two days, IMD said heavy rain possibly compared to Chengalpet, and Kancheepuram Regency and many interior districts for the next two days and more than the North Tamil Nadu coast next week.
The agency has also issued a warning with very heavy rain on Sundays in several places in Kankumari, Tirunelveli, Ramanathapuram and Tuticorin and spells that are heavy over several places in Pulajottai, Madurai, Cuddalore, Villupuram, Salem, and Delta, Salem, and Delta.
November will begin with heavy rain until it is very heavy in isolated places in South Tamil Nadu, heavy rain and heavily above the northern district such as Vellore, Tiruvallur, Chengalpet, Kanchipuram, Villupuram, and Cuddalore, according to IMD.

On Saturday night, IMD said the low pressure area survived more than Sri Lanka from Tamilnadu coast with related cyclone circulation which extended up to 3.1 km above the average sea level.
It’s likely to move slowly to the west for the next three to four days.
Rainfall fell and died on Saturday left a puddle of water on the streets.
Nungambakkam Registered 2.6mm, Meenambakkam 6.4mm, West Tambaram 23mm, Taramani 14mm and Anna University Rain Gauge 8mm.
After a creepy weight spell several parts of the city on Friday left 34mm and 28mm at the Nungambakkam and Meenambakkam weather station.
