Chennai: northeast of Monsun, who redeemed most of Tamil Nadu’s annual rainfall, has arrived, IMD announced on Monday.
In the press meeting, S Deputy Director General, IMD, Chennai, said, “Southwest Monsun has been withdrawn from all countries and at the same time Northeast Monsoon has begun up in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry Kerala, South Karnataka and coastal Andhra Pradesh.” The Northeast Monsun carries 438mm, which is 48% of Tamil Nadu’s annual rainfall and 867.4mm, which is 63% of Chennai’s annual rainfall.
The agency has expected a light storm with light to happening in several Chennai and suburban areas in the next 48 hours with the condition of the sky in generally cloudy.
The maximum and minimum temperature tends to be around 34 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius.
Hurricane with heavy rain is likely to occur in isolated places above Tirunelveli, Tuticorin, Ramanathapuram, Virudhunagar, Madurai, Thenkasi, and Kankumari from Tamil Nadu, the agency has estimated.
Cyclone circulation is likely to develop over the southeast bay of Bengal & the environment tomorrow.
The possibility of moving west.
Under its influence, the low pressure area is likely to be formed in the center of the South Bay Bengala for the next 48 hours, the institution has estimated.
